There had been some confusion over the prospect of more cases of coronavirus at the Serie A club following comments from president Paolo Scaroni, who referred to “some infected players on the mend”. The remark led to some concern about unknown cases at the club, with technical director Paolo Maldini and his son Daniel having returned the only confirmed positive tests in March. However, in a statement issued on Saturday, the club said: “AC Milan confirms that, based on all medical tests carried out to date on first-team players and technical staff, there have not been any positive cases of COVID-19....

It has been proposed to the Spanish government that the Jerez circuit could host two races in July as the sport attempts to get back on track amid the coronavirus pandemic. Twenty grands prix were initially scheduled for 2020, yet Dorna Sports chief executive Carmelo Ezpeleta has previously spoken of targeting just 10 races due to the global crisis. Ezpeleta was slightly more optimistic speaking after news of the Jerez proposal, however, promising a clearer picture in a month’s time....

The U.S. continues to claim the highest number of cases in the world but the pandemic has yet to reach its peak in the country. A government source quoted by The Telegraph said the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) could sign off on the vaccine in less than a week, under a “best-case scenario”.
