The new Raptors guard announced on Twitter he’ll be wearing jersey No. 6.

The jersey number is a reference to Toronto, which has recently been dubbed “The 6” thanks to Drake — the Toronto native, rapper and Raptors ambassador. The announcement comes soon after Joseph got a shoutout on Drake’s diss track “Charged Up.”
“We gon’ make sure you get your bread, and you know the ropes,” Drake raps, “I get a ring and I bring it home like I’m Cory Joe.”
Joseph played in San Antonio (where he won a ring) before signing with Toronto earlier this month.
Not only is Joseph getting shout-outs from Drake, but he’s also hanging out with the rapper. He was at P. Reign’s celebrity kickball event over the weekend with the Canadian rapper.
