According to NFL.com, Coleman will sign a one-year contract with the Patriots after working out for them on Monday.

The Cleveland Browns traded Coleman to the Buffalo Bills this offseason, and the 24-year-old was a surprise roster cut when his new team Buffalo trimmed its squad down to 53 players.

An electric touchdown threat at Baylor, Coleman’s NFL career still has not taken off as he would have hoped after being selected at number 15 overall two years ago.

Through two NFL seasons, Coleman has hauled in just 56 passes for 718 yards and five touchdowns. Though he has underachieved, he could step in and contribute for a team immediately due to his speed and solid hands.

The Patriots started Chris Hogan and Phillip Dorsett Sunday in a win over the Houston Texans, but they could use some depth at receiver before Julian Edelman returns from his four-game suspension.

Coleman was reportedly set to visit the Philadelphia Eagles before the Patriots made their offer.
