Ore is used to make metal bars, upgrade tools, create machinery, and even make explosives. But in order to get the metal ore smelted into bars, players will first need to find the ore on the expansive map of the life sim game Coral Island.

Where to Find Ore on Coral Island

The only place to easily and regularly find ore on Coral Island is the Cavern. In order to get to the Caverns, players just need to head north of their home. Once they reach the Ranch, turn left and follow that road until reaching a sign that says Cavern:

Head north on this road and players will run right into the Caverns.

How to Find the Different Ore in the Caverns of Coral Island

Ore is separated by type into four different caves. In order to get each of the ore, players will need to unlock each of the four different types of Cavern. By default, the first Cavern that is available is the Earth Mine. Since this game is still in Early Access, not all the mines are available yet.

The Earth Mine - Bronze ore; this cavern is already open when the player arrives. The Water Mine - Silver and Bronze ore; this can only be unlocked by reaching level 40 of the Earth Mine. The Wind Mine - Gold and Silver ore; this cave is not yet available in Coral Island. The Fire Mine - Osmium and Gold ore; this cave is not yet available in Coral Island.

Players can also purchase ore from the local blacksmiths in Coral Island.

Coal - 90 coins Bronze - 100 coins Silver - 250 coins Gold - 800 coins Osmium - Not available yet in Coral Island.

How to Process Ore in Coral Island

Players will need two items for processing ore in this farming simulation game. First, they will need to build the kiln to make coal and then the furnace to make the metal bars.

Kilns are made with Stone and Bronze ore. These use regular wood to process into Coal.

Furnaces are used to actually smelt the ore into bars; they are made with stone and bronze ore as well.

In order to use the furnaces, players will need five ore of the same type then one coal. This is true for all four types of metal.

Ore is used in a bunch of recipes, but they do not make great gifts for most Coral Island townies.

Coral Island is available for PC, PC Game Pass, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch.
